Key Points

  • Check labels for product codes and dates; dispose of or return recalled foods to avoid serious health issues.

June is coming to a close, but there are still some prominent nationwide recalls from this month that you may have missed. From ready-to-eat dinners to ice cream, we’ve rounded up five nationwide recalls that you need to know about. Some of these recalls have been connected to severe foodborne illness outbreaks, so we urge you to check your kitchen ASAP for the below items.

Beef Jerky

The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced a recall on approximately 15,388 pounds of beef jerky and beef snack stick products. These snacks were sold nationwide and may contain an undeclared allergen.

Various brands of beef snack products were impacted by this recall, including Uncommon Ground, Spear, Big D’s and more. Review the recall announcement for the full list of brands and flavors affected. These recalled products were sold at retail locations nationwide from May 30, 2023, through May 30, 2025, and all of the packaging contains an establishment number of “EST. 20528.”

These items are being recalled because they may contain fish, specifically anchovies, which is a common allergen that needs to be declared on the packaging. Those with a fish allergy may unknowingly eat the mislabeled beef jerky or beef sticks, posing an allergic reaction risk. Common signs of anaphylaxis include hives, swelling, tightness of the throat, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness and cardiac arrest—call 911 if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.1

Brown Eggs

Over 1.7 million brown eggs sold at Walmart, Ralphs, Safeway and more are being recalled nationwide. These eggs were packaged under the following brands in 12- and 18-egg cartons: Clover, First Street, Nulaid, O Organics, Marketside, Raley’s, Simple Truth, Sun Harvest and Sunnyside.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, these eggs were connected to a Salmonella contamination, resulting in a multistate outbreak. Since the most recent update on June 5, there have been a total of 79 illnesses with 21 hospitalizations connected to this recall. Salmonella infection (salmonellosis) can lead to symptoms like diarrhea, stomach cramps, headache, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. If you are showing signs of infection, consult a health care professional as soon as you can.

All recalled egg cartons contain plant code number “P-6562” or “CA5330” with Julian dates between 32 and 126 printed on the carton or package. If your eggs match the recall information, dispose of them or return them to your place of purchase for a refund. Don't Miss

Ice Cream

Earlier this month, the FDA announced a recall on a popular flavor of Breyers ice cream. The affected cartons were sold at grocery stores nationwide and contain an undeclared allergen due to a packaging issue.

The product recalled are 1.5-quart cartons of Breyers Rocky Road Ice Cream packaged in a Breyers Chocolate Truffle Tub. While the tub has the incorrect label of the chocolate truffle flavor, the lid is appropriately labeled as rocky road. The impacted cartons have a printed best-by date of July 10, 2026, and UPC “077567457288.”

Because of the flavor mixup, the recalled ice cream may contain a common allergen unlabeled on the carton: almonds. Those with an almond allergy could experience an allergic reaction as serious as anaphylaxis after consuming this product. Seek immediate medical attention if you are showing signs of anaphylactic shock.

Those with questions can contact the FDA at 1-888-INFO-FDA (1-888-463-6332).

Ready-to-Eat Meals

Three types of ready-to-eat meals sold at Walmart and Kroger locations nationwide are being recalled due to their connection to a deadly Listeria outbreak.

The following products are affected by this recall, the first two being sold at Walmart locations and the third being sold at Kroger locations:

  • “MARKETSIDE GRILLED CHICKEN ALFREDO WITH FETTUCCINE Tender Pasta with Creamy Alfredo Sauce, White Meat Chicken and Shaved Parmesan Cheese” sold in 32.8-ounce tray packages with best-by date 06/27/25 or prior.

  • “MARKETSIDE GRILLED CHICKEN ALFREDO WITH FETTUCCINE Tender Pasta with Creamy Alfredo Sauce, White Meat Chicken, Broccoli and Shaved Parmesan Cheese” sold in 12.3-ounce tray packages with best-by date 06/26/25 or prior.

  • “HOME CHEF Heat & Eat Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with pasta, grilled white meat chicken and Parmesan cheese” sold in 12.5-ounce tray packages with best-by date 06/19/25 or prior.

These chicken Alfredo meals may still be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. If you have the recalled pasta on hand, dispose of it or return it for a refund. The FSIS notes that as of June 17, there are 17 illnesses connected to this recall, including three deaths and one fetal loss.

Like salmonellosis, Listeria infection (listeriosis) can be a severe foodborne illness for those who are pregnant, age 65 or older, immunocompromised or for young children. Symptoms of listeriosis may include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions. In pregnant individuals, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn. If you or a loved one are experiencing any signs of listeriosis, consult a health care professional immediately.

Shrimp

The FDA recalled approximately 44,550 pounds of Bornstein Seafoods ready-to-eat shrimp product. The affected shrimp was sold in 1- or 5-pound bags nationwide, and they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The Bornstein Seafoods shrimp recalled were sold in bags with a UPC of “614133200246” or “614133200239” and one of the following lot codes printed on the bags: “A19008,” “A19009” or “P11710.”

The shrimp impacted by this recall were distributed directly to retailers in California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia in Canada, and they may have been distributed and sold at retailers nationwide. Check your freezer immediately for the recalled shrimp, and dispose of any recalled products or return them to your place of purchase for a refund. There are no illnesses connected to this recall, but seek medical attention from a health care professional if you are showing signs of foodborne illness.
