There’s an active expanded recall on products containing jalapeño peppers linked to a Salmonella outbreak, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This is impacting retail locations in 26 states.

Popular retailers such as Kroger, Target, Trader Joe’s and Walmart are recalling various products from shelves distributed by Taylor Fresh Foods. The following states are directly affected by the recall: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Salmonella infection (salmonellosis) typically develops within 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food. Common symptoms include diarrhea, stomach cramps, headache, nausea and vomiting, and may last for up to seven days.
