Supplements To Take Before & After Surgery



Your body experiences scheduled trauma during surgery, so you want to help it prepare by introducing some very helpful nutrients.


Below are my nutritional recommendations for pre surgery. Take them every day, for 1-2 weeks (or more) before the surgical procedure.


Many doctors tell patients to discontinue all supplements before a surgery to reduce the possibility of over thinning the blood. However, these supplements do not cause thinning of the blood, and are safe to take. Of course, if you still have concerns, it is always best to speak with your doctor.


Additionally, many doctors will prescribe you an array of medications post surgically to help with pain, swelling, and inflammation. These medicines can contribute to nutritional deficiencies and other nutritional complications that may interfere with your healing process.


The following supplements are recommended to support you through the post surgical healing process. Always talk with your doctor about adding supplements. The following list is recommended for 12 weeks after surgery. All should be taken in divided doses with food unless otherwise stated. All should be taken away from any prescription medications your are taking.

  • Continue with the list above, plus..

  • Quercetin

  • Omega-3

  • High Dose Probiotic

  • Amino Acids

  • Proteolytic Enzymes


Always take the 91 essential nutrients. The above lists are recommended and emphasized if just starting to take supplements. Also look into taking digestive enzymes!
